My apologies if this has been covered already, but my Marineland canister filter is giving me fits. I did a routine maintenance on my corner 54 today including changing out some of the media in said canister. I got it all back together and under the tank, and the primer button went down as if it were priming like every other time...but the button never came back up. Next I took the filter back out, opened it back up, and filled it with water from my tank, and it still didn't pump any water. Next idea was to fill both the intake and outfall hoses with water, but still no luck. The blasted thing WANTS to pump, it's just not ciphoning. I've had this running for about 5 years. SURELY that's not the lifespan of this thing. Any ideas from the group?

Hmmm...I don't know much about canister filters, but here's a free bump. ;)

I worked on a canister that was in a tank I serviced that did something similar, I found it was the actual siphon button that was getting stuck it was remedied by taking the canisters lid apart and applying Vaseline to the part replacing the o ring.
