MarineLand magnum filter

Hi all,

Looking some advice on the marineland magnum filter. It’s brand new just arrived today. I have setup and put in tank with just the supplied filter with it. I have checked everything is connected properly but when I plug it in it starts filtering for a few seconds then stops for about 5 or 10 minutes then goes again for 5 seconds etc.

Am I missing something or doing anything wrong?

most filters need to be primed to start, did you prime it?

It says it didn’t need to be primed unless I was using it with diatomaceous earth
