Marks on Bimac Anthias

Background: got 5 bimac anthias that have been in qt for over two months. Treated with 7 days of hypo and then 16 days of copper power and metroplex (in water and added to food), transferred to another tank and treated with 2 rounds of GC. And transferred to new observation tank for the last 3 weeks. One of them has this vertical marks on her for the last week or so. Can't tell if it's uronema or injury causes by the larger female who rules with an iron fist and is really aggressive. My guess is that it's an injury since uronema usually always kills quickly.

It's really hard to tell for certain. I don't think it's Uronema. It's always possible with them. I can see the faint lines you are talking about. Hopefully it's just an injury, if it is you should see improvement in the next 3-7 days for sure.

Tough to say but it could be early presentation of uronema. 14 days in metroplex or GC at higher doses is generally needed to clear it up. If it progressing quickly.

They were treated with metro for 16 days at double the dose already. Do you feel it's still possible to be uronema? That's my big fear.

Doubtful in that scenario.

Mine get marks like that from both hitting the edges of rocks in the tank when darting around; and one of them gets those marks from where it sleeps rubbing against the rocks while in sleep mode.

Doesn’t really look like uronema to me. That one fish looks like it’s the dominant female, and behaving with typical male twitchiness. Probably some kind of physical injury/bruise. I’ve had male bimacs give themselves head and neck hematoma by attacking their reflection in QT. They are not very bright animals.
