Awe :) they are bonding nicely! Lost my female, she ended up on the floor in the middle of the night :( so I got Little Guy another female and he immediately took to her.

Little ones are all male. Chances are the one you now consider to be the male will end up being the dominant female.

I dont think so at all, the big one is about 5 inches, my male is 1 inch. Im almost certain the big one is already female and I know for a fact my little one is male since he just lost his female a few days ago. He has already flipped over and shown her his belly

I must have misread the original because it seems we are of the same thought here. Disregard my original post.

Was there any aggression? I only ask cause I’ve read bad thing in maroon and only just learned they are evil but I just bought 2 one maroon and one I have no idea what it is yet

Ah yeah no. Maroons need to be with maroons aggression and size wise. Maroons are huge clowns (like 6 inches). That other clown wont last long when that happens. Get rid of one or the other and stick with one kind. Regular clowns (any design) is okay but just dont mix maroons and perc/occ clowns

Oh ok. Mine aren’t unfortunately…I’m still learning this. I’m going to trade the maroon in and get another type
Yeah probably best, maroons are not beginner clowns 😂 they are just so aggressive. Mine were actually peaceful but I have an aggressive tank. A regular clown actually was the most terror fish ever. She jumped out of the water and bit me in the forehead. Try explaining why you have a tiny teeth circle injury on your forehead… people look at you like youre nuts when you say it was a clownfish that bit you 😂

Yeah that would be a hard one. I started out with a 29 gallon. I had a 4 stripe damsel, watchman goby, 6 line wrasse, blue damsel. I up graded my tank to a 75 and all fish died but the 4 stripe. Didn’t have enough oxygen in the water. So I was trying to get more fish for my tank now that’s it’s recycled again. I went with doing a reef tank. My bf has a lot of knowledge and experience with salt he’s been doing saltwater for years. So I have him for advice but when I got home he told me that fish was highly aggressive. Then I got on here and everyone was basically saying they were the devil lol. That when I realized I screwed up.

I really love maroons to be honest! I miss mine. I currently have a pair of tomato clowns which everyone also says are awful and mine are chill and dont bother anyone. Depends on the fish! But I also keep eels, a grouper, triggers, and a sohal tang that everyone also thinks are devils 😂 I do love aggressive fish

I want a dragon wrasse lol. I’m planning to eventually set up a predator tank

Maroons are my favorite clowns. It took me 2 attempts to get a bonded pair. I ordered a pair and they didn't like each other at all. The second pair sent as a replacement went the same way. But one from the original "pair" bonded with one ftom the second right away. So it worked out.

I think they are pretty but I don’t want high aggression in my reef tank so I kept the orange

So far they are only aggressive to my hand and the algea scraper. The other fish they seem to ignore.

Yep! My male would attack the scraper. My female would chase fish away from her area but other than that they minded their own business
