Got a lighting maroon clownfish had him for 2 days and not sure if this behavior is odd. I also noticed him perching off the top of the water. he is eating and usually notice him staying off in 1 corner almost all day.

I would check the water, especially if ammonia is present. Is this tank new? Other fish? Flow may be too strong. When fish do this it usually means oxygen problems. How is your PH level? However, clownfish take up host to that corner. One way to tell is to put your finger there if he fights you, that's what it is. They will defend it! Clowns use anemones for homes. If not present, they usually pick a spot, rock, corner, etc. I would think that is what it is he picked a spot for his home.

ammonia is at 0.
tank is new and i did turn down the flow and that’s when i noticed the fish near the nozzle. currently no other fish in the tank but planning on adding anemone and another fish within the next week.
Ph is currently at a 7.6-7.8
we tested with API saltwater test kit.

I just ordered an ORA LuxLightning Maroon and I’ve been watching so many YouTube videos and reading info online, so I can’t recall exactly where I heard this, but I definitely read that sometimes clowns might just stick to one of the top corners of the tank until they’re comfortable enough to explore and settle in to a new spot. It might help to dim your lights a few days to help him acclimate.

But from your video he seems to look and move totally normal. Awesome fish, btw! Best of luck with the little dude.

A fish that's hanging in or pointing into the flow from your powerhead can often be a sign of disease such as Velvet. Do you notice anything else "off" about him? Rapid breathing, not eating, etc.?
