Max Kessil Daisy Chain Number?

Just curious if anyone knew if there was an official max on the number of Kessils you could have daisy chained on their Spectral Controller. I have 4x Kessil a360we/ne on my 120g tank, and also have 3x Kessil a80 over a 40g frag tank. I tried to set them all up to daisy chain together, but my a360 lights were doing a weird flicker since (I'm assuming) they were at the end of the series.

Here's how I had it: Controller -> a80 -> a80 -> a80 -> a360we -> a360ne -> a360we -> a360we

I was concerned that maybe one of the blue LEDs was going out, but then I plugged the a360 series directly into the controller and it works fine now.

I'm not sure if there is an official number. I have 6 a360we daisy chained without issue, controlled by apex. The length and quality of the link cables does impact the number you can daisy chain. When I first connected the 6th light, I had the flicker you experienced but replacing the a cable resolved it.

Very interesting, thanks for the response. I'm only using audio cables from monoprice so I bet that's it.

I'm using audio cables myself but there is a difference in quality (I tend to cheap out on them myself). With the cheapies you can get enough resistance to impact the voltage.

You could also use the second channel to split them up. That’s what I did. I have 3 kessil 360we’s on each channel.

Yeah that's how I ended up doing it. I have a 12ft cable that doesn't hide tidily if I plug the 360s into the controller, which is why I had plugged it into the a80s. No big deal, I'll just need to order a longer cable.
