Maxima clam

I was moving my new maxima clammed which is anchored on a drag plug. While moving it. I twisted the clam a little foot is still anchored. Is this a good sign or is the clam damaged from my actions

Clams attach with by byssal threads, you can use a sharp razor blade to cut those threads from a plug. Twisting is not optimal and may damage the muscles and tendons which ends in death for the clam. Just remove the clam from the tank and cut the threads without damaging the foot.

I don’t wanna take the chance of cutting anything and doing something worse

Yes it’s opening up but not full because moment ago it was going through what I did

The byssal threads aren't living tissue, but they're tough. It's when we rip them out of the clam that we can cause issues - cutting them with a sharp blade shouldn't.

Nah, your is fine!
For all the new clams, I cut whatever small piece its attaching for easier placement in my tank and they would attach to new spot faster, If I don't do that it will take time to release the old piece and attach to new place, also the small piece under neat it will cause the balance issue when its open and close its shell on the flat rock/tank bottom.
