I was moving my new maxima clammed which is anchored on a drag plug. While moving it. I twisted the clam a little foot is still anchored. Is this a good sign or is the clam damaged from my actions

Clams attach with by byssal threads, you can use a sharp razor blade to cut those threads from a plug. Twisting is not optimal and may damage the muscles and tendons which ends in death for the clam. Just remove the clam from the tank and cut the threads without damaging the foot.
