Assume:

  1. All fish are introduced at the same time
  2. Proper filtration
  3. All fish quarantined
  4. Mix of tangs from nasos to kole tangs. ie 1 or 2 of each species
Thank you!

Here's what I had in a pretty similar tank minus two feet.

120x29x31"

Achilles, Achilles Hybrid, Yellow Bellied Blue, Gem, Black, Black Hybrid, (3) Yellows, Purple, Tomini, Chevron

I think that was it.

I'd says the 2-5 range.

With proper filtration and diet, It is not infinite nor typical practice to have 20 or more in this size tank which yours would be a 300g. I have a 400g with 21 tangs and other fish and while well managed is not recommended and is not a recommendation for everyone and I recommend Up to 12 depending on genus/potential for growth and compatibility with the mix. Introducing at once NOT advised as it will place a load on tank chemistry , and potentially cause stress which leads to disease. I have stocked my tangs over the last 6 years.

how long is a piece of string....

As above, depends on the entry size of the fish, the order you add them, the level of QT for hyper susceptible species, but importantly, the types of swim lanes and current you have for them to cruise, channel and avoid conflict.

that is a big tank you have there, and should be able stock it within reason

good luck
