I would love to test a maxspect in my system to see how well they do. With my tank being in the basement I am not too worried about the noise but if it was upstairs the pumps would have been sold a long time ago.

Just came across this thread. I’m thinking of getting the icecap 1k because it’s so cheap but that also has me worried!
I've had 2 of the 1k on my tank since they came out . I like them alot . Wish the could sync with each other but pretty strong I clean mi e every 2 months or so

I absolutely love my icecap 3k. However I run it in forwards, ramping up to 100% for 20 seconds, then a reverse of that. 3 times a minutes it changes direction, 24/7. It’s on 2-3” below the surface and it’s almost silent, you can hear some motor noise but no worse, probably less even than my 4 Tunze controllable pump. Zero air capture and I only clean it every 4-6 months.
