I’ve been out of the hobby for about 10 years now and it’s pretty overwhelming how many things I’ve forgotten and am slowly re-learning but also how many things have changed! Excited for my new tank and am taking my time with the new build.

Just bought this from BRS during Black Friday.

Maxspect Lagoon LS-60 32 gal
I am using all the OEM equipment it comes with.

Jump MJ-GF2K Gyre Flow Pump
Turbine Duo 6K Return pump
MJ-SK400 Skimmer

I bought off here

Kessil A360X Tuna Blue
Neptune Apex Pro

Still looking for

Tunze ATO
Apex Regent? Is this worth it?

And any recommendations by you guys!

Welcome back. You're doing an awesome job. The scape is very nice, sharp tank.

Ok so today I finished the aquascape (kinda annoyed cause I paid for the base rock from BRS but I guess my tabletop wasn’t perfectly level cause it wobbles about a 1/16 of an inch. The sump is plumbed. I got the auto top off tank today (with absolutely no instructions on how to install it, just a bag of parts). I installed the Kessil A360X. And now I just have to hook up all the electronics and then build up my RODI mixing station. I still have to buy an ATO don’t wanna trust the gravity fed system too much.

Things I still need:

Tunze ATO
RODI bins.

I followed BRS tutorial on Aquascape and tried to hide all the putty seems with liquid glue and rock rubble, but ran out right at the end. Added a couple more pieces and I think I looks better now. I also both the Mr. Coralline purple colorant. Helped a little but not sure it’s worth it. Taking my time as best as I can.

If you guys see me making mistakes let me know!

Thanks

So, just to clarify, this model does not have the armored seams, is that correct?

Also, I can't recall, is there a float valve inside the ATO container as well?

No armored seems, but very well built. The actual separate ATO container does not come with a float valve. The sump has one though.

I'm so tempted to grab an LS-060 to keep easy, lower flow corals and pipefish in.

Beautiful tank!

Few questions since I just ordered a Maxspect lagoon. On the website, it shows armored seams. I was assuming all models had them. I couldn’t find any literature saying the ls-060 model didn’t have them. Kind of a huge deal if scraping glass the next 10 years.

Is that the 1.5 gallon ATO reservoir? How many days are you averaging before filling up? Lastly, how is the flow in the tank with the return pump and 2k gyre? Mine will be dominant Sps. I ordered the Maxspect mj-l290 led light to integrate with the system. Can I plug the light into the power center of the Maxspect? Thank you!

OK, I can answer some of these questions as it goes with the armored seams, maybe I’m not sure what those look like if you can explain I’ll check my tank when I get home. I have not filled the tank and started the cycle yet so I can’t tell you how often we’ll have to fill the ATO. So I guess the only question I really can answer is yes you can plug those lights directly into the controller and control them.

Once I get it up and running I’ll let you know the rest of those things. If you really want flow I have a 4K jump gyre that plugged into the controller and works the same but with way more power. I haven’t decided if I’m gonna use that one yet so maybe I’ll sell it to you?

Unless they are different than mine, no you can't plug the light into the main controller. It will need its own power brick and be controlled separately, but within the same Syna-G app.

I’m in the same boat. Just scratching the surface of diving back in and so much has changed and I have forgotten so much. Toying around with the idea of going all in with a 2-300 gallon tank 🤔. It’s a bit overwhelming but I’ll be following along. Looks good so far!

Thanks for the replies! It looks like the jump 2k and the turbine duo 6k are discontinued on a lot of sites. I’m worried parts won’t be available in the near future and the whole selling point is the integrated power center.

I'm not sure which sites you're checking, but BRS is the main US distributor for Maxspect and also provide support for US customers.

I just reached out to them about replacement bushings for my Turbine Duo 12k and a missing return nozzle and they sent them right out.
