Maxspect sk400

I got a maxspect sk 400 2-3 months ago to go in my 125g with 55g sump. It was replacing an undersized nyos. Anyways no matter what level of water I put it in it just constantly overflows. I finally raised it and it’s like 4” in the water and I can’t go any higher than 50% and it’s working for the most part but why is it not working good at the required depth. Tank is like 8 months old just two clowns and a clean up crew. Been fighting nitrates for months. No dosing or additives as I only have a few zoas and leathers

I had the same problem with my previous SK400 and ended up selling it since I lost interest in the constant fiddling.

I have an SK800. I run it at 40%, and it skims well. Resist the urge to turn it up. Leave it at a low speed setting and let it be.
