No you can just dim it down. I use the 160w 16k on a 29 gallon standard running max day time at ch1 55% ch2 75%.

Ok cool I didn't want to get something that was going to fry the coral.

Oh these can fry your coral, so still be careful when light acclimating. I started mine at ch1 20% ch2 30%.
