Yes, short for Orlando. Everyone calls me Orly even in the business world. Well, when I had a job. I'm loving this trial early retirement though. But, I will have to get back out there for a few more years to financially secure my retirement and continue buying non-essential things like a $500 par meter and post readings here.
Reef Breeders Meridian & Meridian Edge
Here's my first readings. These reading are all on the right side of the tank comprising of a RB Meridian OG 24" and a Edge Bar 14K 24". I was blown away of how much additional power the Edge Bar provides. I went and turn them down some in my regular schedule. For those with a Meridian and looking for a bit more coverage and a LOT more power, the Edge Bar can easily supply it.
All reading were taken with all pumps on and the sensor is being lowered near mid tank front to back.

I told my LFS that my acro’s were only at about 400 par and they laughed like I was crazy and also told me that wasn’t good for my corals but whatever they do fine! Maybe that’s why the LFS has problems with Acorpora 
I think I’m gonna go stronger and more powerful slowly why not.
My Watermelon Zoas closed up a few days ago and didn’t want to open. I was wondering why as all else looked fine. After checking light intensity with the par meter, I realized that I had repositioned the lights and turned the edge bars up and were pointing towards the Zoas. The Zoas were being blasted with light and were protecting themselves. Turned the edge bars down and they started opening again. Don’t underestimate the edge bars as I did.

My poor alveopora got damaged catching shrimp out of the display. I put it back in the corner and it seems ok. Recession has stopped. Haven’t seen any new growth though.
But I’m in camp cook em, they’ll adapt
So far everything has. Once adapted to each par increase thus far the corals seem to reach a new level. I haven’t advanced my power in a few weeks, but since the last time I did the tank has been looking really good. Seeing more oranges and reds out of my tenuis. Growth rates of most of my acropora has seen an increase. I’m not going up fast, but thus far the intensity increases have been well received by my system. I would hazzard I’m running somewhat elevated trates/phos and that tracks to be able to toast the corals without as much potential consequence
Oh yeah… algae and corals like the same conditions in a lot of cases. I have seen a corresponding increase in algae growth with the latest intensity increases. Trying to reach that perfect balance is the hard part. Also I need a big CUC refresh, that’s a whole different story.
That’s great and same here. Turning down the whites intensity or for less time helps with algae a bit. And of course refreshing your CUC will do more.But I want to cook everything!

I think you picked up an Apogee 510 a while back. If you can use the tank holder I made for it, let me know and will print and send one to you.
This is a great idea.A little progress today getting set to map. Here's what I've done.
Designed and printed a holder for the Apogee to sit on the rim of the tank hands free.
Now I need to design/ print a phone holder to set on my tripod to do this sort of recording to each coral where I can see the reading and which corals the readings are coming from. The recording example below was of the Aquadelight at 4:00 PM.
NOTE: I reduced all channels 10% of what I posted yesterday. Although corals were doing fine, I felt the light was much more than needed.
Light height to water: 14"
Coral: Aquadelight from BC
Coral depth from water surface: 9"
Sensor Position: Near base of coral
Pumps: All pumps running
Average par at 4PM: 550 (µmol m-2 s-1)
Light intensity at 4PM:
Indigo Near UV Royal Blue White Cool Blue Violet/ Indigo
I'd be happy to hear your thoughts on direction I'm going here and if there's something different different or to add.
That’s awesome I do have the Apogee and it is awkward to hold while using it, especially recording like you are. I’d love to try it out.

Thank you for the offer. I have a 3/4" thick acrylic tank with bracing. Would likely need to suction cup it or hang it on a clip for mine.
