Megabite's 180 Reef - Round 2

Interesting, your wave form looks good, but your numbers are a bit lower than I’d expect. I wonder if you need to calibrate? Do you have any alternatives to testing pH? By the looks of your Acropora and growth your getting I’d expect pH has to be higher than indicated by your apex. Just my .02
Your tank looks so good, with the growth I just don’t think pH could be that low. Either way. I dose dilute kalk in my top off water and it is a great little pH booster. 3tbsp/8gallon. Works wonders for boosting growth in my system. I barely had to change my all for reef dose because of the increase in uptake.

The 3d printed apogee holder is a game changer, makes it so much easier to focus on the sensor placement not having to figure out what to do with the display.
-TY!
Also, I've gone back and forth on running some kalk in my ATO water just for that purpose. I've going to see how well the sodium hydroxide does before doing that. To you point, everything is doing really well. I probably shouldn't be messing with the tank too much. I couple of vids I just took of some sps. They are just really happy right now.

Just really nice PE on these as well.

I don't just do Reef lighting!

My wife is pretty obsessive with her hobby as well (like we all are on this forum). Today I was setting up lighting and ventilation on a new IKEA cabinet she got for plants. Here are a few pictures of the cabinet along with pics of her obsession. She has a bunch of pretty rare and cool plants in her collection. That's why she never says anything to me about buying corals. She's just as bad!

I see begonias! My wife had planned to buy herself on one there for her terrarium begonias, but SOMEONE that we should put a frag tank there instead.

Looking great man! It looks just like mine except it isn't brown!

I'm not overly concerned with my PH as like you said things are growing well. It just bugs me. I'm a numbers guy and when something aren't "optimal", it just bugs me.

The bars are 14k. Keep in mind that the bars are VERY powerful. I had to turn mine way down to not cook the corals. On page 29 of this thread I have a par test and different intensity if you haven't checked it out. It will give you a good baseline for what intensity you want to run on your tank.

And the below video will give you an example of how powerful these are when working in tandem getting about 1200 on the surface and 600 on the sandbed with both at 100%.

Wow that's awesome, I will definitely have to scan through these other pages and see your PAR testing. I think some local reef stores around me rent out PAR meters, I will definitely be doing that.

Sure is!

Also, my wife uses these boxes a lot for high humidity plants. She likes them because they are easy to place almost anywhere. Amazon Link
Ill have to show her this! I felt bad that she didnt get the IKEA, so this one would be a nice alternative. She's actually looking for something like this. Thanks OG

Exciting stuff getting a new setup. Congrats and hope you have lots of success! I see you're in Clearwater. Beware, @That Crusso Kid is not too far from you.
'Tis true. Only a couple hours away.

Very cool, how do you get that Tampa Bay Reef Keepers tag? I have always wondered how people get those.
So, you just show up and put me on the spot? Well played!

Truth be told, it was so long ago that I got that badge, I do not remember how it happened. However, my friend (loosely used term), @tbrown is a man "in the know" and will probably be able to point you in the right direction.

And a little love for some of my other corals. Reds and orange.

Thanks Chris. I'm also really excited for you on the new tank. Let me know if you want some rubble or something to get things started from my tank. I will be happy to send some when you're ready if needed.

You have to ask to be added to the group usually. Some require membership to the actual group (AZFRAG for example requires an annual membership including fees), some require a simple request to join.

You just need to figure out who the moderator/manager is and they can add you.

I bet @AlyciaMarie or @Crabs McJones might be able to find out who that is?

Here are the boxes on a table for perspective. They work really well.

Thanks for the offer, Orly.
