What reflectors were you using sir?
How high were they hung?
A pair of cayman sun on the outside and I forget the name of this hammered one it was in the center.. it put out 100 more par than the caymans. It’s not a lumenarc and doesn’t have a name on it.. gonna drive me crazy 🤣 They were 12” off the water

So do you guys think two 250w over a 4 foot, 20" deep tank will he ok for euphyllia? I was looking at @Troylee PAR graph he posted. Sandbed would be fine for euphyllia.

I need HQI ballasts (as I scream in agony) and 5 Ushio 10K. Man, I got into reefing just a tad bit too late. I’m addicted to halides. But I screwed myself. I didn’t realize the gold reef brites are not meant for these Radium’s or the Hamilton’s I have. Sigh… and I have a new tank I’m going to need to put some lights on in a couple weeks. I planned to use 4 caymans with these reef brites. But that ain’t gonna work. Man I’m ticked. (At myself)

It’s plenty! I had 3 over my tank that’s 36x72. You want poo thou you won’t be happy with the halides the meridians will bring it out! And grow well! It’s a catch 22 haha

This is what I get when I look on Amazon. I’m new to Halides. The only Ballast I have owned and used is the gold RB. Any help greatly appreciated.

I don’t miss buying $75 bulbs every year year
Same here. I used to go through 4 400watt radiums a year (2 pair), then I switched to 14k coralvue.

I liked the 14k coralvue! I miss that look so much and the growth wasn't too bad.

But now I have a 3'x2'x12"t tank and metal halide is just too much. I think if i were to break it down over here, I'm using about 150 watts of light total spread between 2 kessils and an ati straton pro 102. It's more than adequate for me.
