My preference would be a 24" Giesemann Spectra Pendant with T5 supplement but the fixtures are hard to find. At least in Canada.
I kick myself for not buying the last 24" Spectra available on BRS a couple years back and unfortunate they don't carry them any more. I would think that albeit a small market for MH, there are buyers...You won’t really find them anywhere outside of Europe. They’ve gotta be ordered directly from giesemann in Germany. Unless you found a used one. In the last 5 years I’ve seen maybe one or two go up for sale in the US. Not sure about Canada but I imagine there’s a similar scarcity
I love the metal halide/ LED hybrid. Best of both worlds. I’m still very happy with the reef brite fixture. Corals have responded very well to themI kick myself for not buying the last 24" Spectra available on BRS a couple years back and unfortunate they don't carry them any more. Someone should develop a LED/MH/T5 combo fixture. Best of everything
I installed 2×250w + T5 ......corals absolutely loving it ! I can see literally the sps frags growth every day .I kick myself for not buying the last 24" Spectra available on BRS a couple years back and unfortunate they don't carry them any more. How do you have the fixture mounted? Looks in the background like black steel pipe mounted to the wall with some flanges? Does that hold it securely? I have an 8 bulb T5 fixture that I'm trying to figure out how to mount, I want something fairly low profile and attractive. Like your halide hybrid, it's heavier than the typical LED fixture. So far I’m impressed. Once I move and expand to 8’x3’ frag tanks I’ll probably go with the 400 watt bulbs for over the SPS system and 250 watts over the zoa/LPS system.
