I'm looking to switch from Chinese black boxes to a Cebu sun 48 for my 90 gallon. was looking to run either 4x blue + or 2x blue+ 2x coral +. but will probably run the 420/460 combo that it comes and use those up planning on a 20k radium on m80 ballasts.

how high are you guys mounting your lights? what kind of par are you getting on the sand bed? I'm currently a mixed reef but have recently started leaning more towards the sticks, but have some lower light corals, leptos, chalice, etc. worried I'll be too much par on the sand bed. should I mess with my scape at all?

here is a picture currently of the tank, the top of the rock work is about 10" from the water surface. I'm thinking of turning that middle rock which is currently a zoa island into a stick forest :) I've got 2 gyre 3k's running random modes throughout the day, minimum 70% flow

BUMP!

I'm sure more useres are enjoying their MH and/or MH Hybrid fixtures!

Let's see those, what setup is everyone running? What light/ballasts/T5 combos?

I'm eager to switch from T5/Led to MH/T5 on my next upgrade...

I run 2 400W Radium SE bulbs with 1 T5 true actinic, 1 T5 Blue+ and 2 rows of Reef Brite XHOs. There is a built in wide angle moonlight built in between the two MHs. JP

I'm planning on a similar setup, but with 2 T5s and no led bars,

You happen to have fts with this light on? Any par numbers for all on?

No editing... straight from my camera to the computer. Colors are deep and bright and why I choose Halides. 14k Phoenix on m80 for 10 hours with no other lighting.

Garf Bonsai:

Ice Fire, Saramentosa and a bright green Loripes (Ice Fire has whiter branches, but I cannot get it without editing the photo... the lighter parts are as white as can be):

Let me see a whole tank shot!

I'm running the Cebu Sun with 2 blue plus, 2 hamilton bulbs that came with and 250w radiums. I posted my par numbers here.

Thanks so you know the par? I’ve got the same set but my lights are about 15” off the water and my par absolutely sucks. Needing to lower the canopy down about 6-7” I think to get better par.

I re measured and they are 12 inches off. I believe my par was in in the low 200s with just Halide and 300s with t5 added

I was also running a single AP700 with 6 T5's ATI Blue plus. Just felt like looking at the corals they were missing something. So, I bought 2x250w single ended Reef brite halide setup. It has been a night and day difference in seeing the coral coloration and polyp extension. Sold the AP700 and bought more frags lol. Tank is in my half walkout basement so temp didn't even play a factor. In fact my 500w heater never really kicks on lol. I run Hamilton 20k's and 4 ATI blue plus t5's. I'm thinking of giving Radiums a try but hear they run inefficient on electronic ballasts.

I have a Giesemann Inifiniti fixture with 150watt MH (Phoenix) and 4x T5s (combo of blue+, actinic, and likely purple plus) that will be used on my Elos System 70. No pictures yet because I just moved, but I’m excited to get it started
