Got some frags today from a very reputable online dealer. I had a big credit based on previous orders that I applied to the whole order but still spent $$ with them. All the frags were not ginormous in general - no biggie. But THIS DUDE IS CRAZY SMALL RIGHT? Plus some bonus veg.? Not a bargain basement Monti either.

Yeah, I actually tried that a couple years ago with the BC bargain bin, 100 even shipped for a pack of like 10. but people totally took advantage of while I had Sales ended up pretty much give them away for free and the math just didn't "math". Unfortunately. sShipping put me in the red on those pr
how about 100 shipped even for a pack of 5? half the quantity, so you don't end up red, and still give people a cool mystery grabbag?? if you decide you want to test it out like a trial, sign me up, i'll fill out surveys and give honest feedback! =)

Yeah, I could try something like that agai one of the problems is real estate and propagating a lot of that stuff just wasn't worth the effort. I know that sounds a little smug but it's true, even as freebies people don't always appreciate that stuff.

The other problem with the super cheap packs, is when I would have sales where I'd have 35 to 40% off. People were adding like 2 or 3 those packs and it was ultimately just a 10-25 piece freebie at the end of the day. Believe me if I could afford to keep doing that I would. But competing with the bottom feeder chop shops on here is hard enough. Like 300.00 for a stupid hunk off of a wild tenuis vs 10.00 for a giant aquacultured stylo blob. lol. Maybe if I had more space I could dedicate to that but I don't.

Now I don't think you'll find too many people that will stay I am not a pretty generous guy with the "nice stuff" anyway. But again on my end, it just wasn't worth the effort to grow and propagate all that stuff and take up a lot of space in my systems. I wasn't kidding when said I've been throwing boulders of montis away for years. I have donated quite. ambit over the years as well but generally speaking, most people aren't looking for that stuff anymore. Or they say they want it or think they do, but deep down, they really don't, and they certainly don't wanna pay for it. Which I totally understand. First world problems to be sure. I swear I am not complaining. Just is what it is.

Anyway, if your still with me, I do still have a lot of that stuff here and can and will make beginner type packs on request any time for next to nothing. You want massive red caps or green acros, tennis ball sized stylo. or poci colonies? How about 3 fingers of encrusting Monti all day long? Just ask!

Dawg you spent $500 USD on that?
No. that was the website price for a small frag. They had slightly larger frags for more. I did really want to start growing out orange glitter Goni, but it’s actually much harder than it seems in order to get a true strain

Anyway I reached out to the vendor and asked if they were willing to trade for a frag. I ended up having something he wanted, and a trade was agreed on

It’s true. I felt I must have it. And I had spent weeks looking. Found fakes and dead ends. Then, found a small company that had it, and they were a forum member all along lol

Traded evenly one of my items for the orange glitter. Bought a few other Goni frags. Everything came in very nice condition. Great color too. I was very happy overall with the deal and purchases

I'm waiting till something, anything is throwing shade in the tank before I add more encrusters. And even then, I'm not sure if that will be enough to control growth. Had sunset monti and pavona kill other coral I cared much more for, so it now needs to be controlled.

I am, however well practiced at killing stylos and poci. So if you want em dead, feel free to drop one in my next box. Your latest acros are doing fine in my tank though.

I don’t think you’re not generous. In fact you’re my favorite vendor for sps as I believe you’re incredibly fair. I now have 20 acros from you! Thank you again for high quality pieces, honoring awesome sales, and your great customer service when a piece or two didn’t make it with shipping.

Give it away before you throw it away…
Even this is difficult it seems (for me anyway). I have a couple friends that go to shows so I'll give them a bunch of cuttings or extra coral. But if they don't want it, and if the LFS also passes, then it will generally go in the trash.
