Hey guys

I am currently running a Red Sea Max Nano.
There is this Micron Filter Bag in the Back-Chambre of the tank (AIO)

I am not sure if that filter bag is also supposed to hold any media?
I dont know if theres enough flow through it in order to really keep media in it. I mean does that even have an effect when for example putting activated carbon in it?

Or where would you guys put some mediabag?

You can see the chambre on that pic below.
#7 is the micron filter bag Im talking about.

cheers

If the water can flow around the bag, so not forced to go through it, the media inside won't do much.

Well, theres the #3 on the scrren as you see its called "Carbon".
But I do have a sponge there to trap micro bubbles from the skimmer...
But where else should I ever place some media bag? I guess theres like no possibility.

Just set ur media bag on top of that #3 sponge. I run carbon in my sump in a mesh bag that sits between the last baffles for my return section on top of the bubble trap sponge.

Isn't number 7 the inlet to your back chambers?
I see above it is the inlet teeth and opposite side is the return pump.

So could the micron filter bag be like a filter sock and the water entering your back chamber flows through this capturing larger pieces of detritus/ food particles?

Just a guess as never owned an aio so idk but just giving my opinion

I have a Max Nano too and found a decent media cup and water diverter on Etsy. It arrived yesterday and installed nice. The cup is large enough to hold quite a bit of media - you do want to use the black sponge on top of it though since it kind of floats up with the water. The diverter works nice too - I didn't like how a lot of water was being dumped around the skimmer and not into the filter sock area. I am hoping that this will solve my media space issue since I really don't see a lot of options in how they have the back area laid out.
