I have had a Midas blenny for a few months. Never noticed any bullying until this morning, my bristletooth tang went crazy and was attacking everyone. I noticed my Midas blenny on the sand and was struggling. I pulled him out and noticed a huge gash right on its neck near the gills. The fish struggled to breathe for the next few hours while in isolation with an air stone and eventually passed away. The bristletooth tang has been sumped.

Just recollecting over what happened to the Midas blenny, was there anything I could have done to save it?

Sorry for your loss but it sounds it was pretty random. There was probably nothing you could have done.
