Retired from USAF after 20 years. Still working for AF as a civilian at Wright Patt AFB, OH. My dad also retired from the USAF after 24 years and then worked for the Army in Bremerhaven Germany.

Spent almost all of my time in Lejeune. 2/4 and 2/6 in 2dMarDiv. Last 6 months before EAS were in 2nd FSSG. Hated every second I was there. lol
Yes!the best thing there in Jville was the jville ninja
GSD's are great dogs. Mine (Athena) is my profile pic and we're doing service dog training together now. Between that and reefing I stay pretty busy.+1 on the coping mechanism
my service dog Rusty (GSD), his tasks can only go so far. But building this tank has alleviated A LOT of stressors
Yeah they were home ported in San Diego before I got to the ship. how about those FOD walk downs tho lol.. good times. Thanks for your service!I was right to the Nimitz, was ported at Coronado island at that time though.

Thank you. Ya my LFS guy is a really cool guy. So far so good. Will be a long time for me to house euphyllia again. Had an antibiotic treatment done and one of my euphyllias that I thought was dead is starting to come back. Had a tiny polyp on it so I thought I might have a chance. That one is my barometer LOL.I only kept freshwater when I was in because I knew I wouldn't be able to manage salt. Sorry your tank crashed but that's really awesome of your LFS to come through. Good luck on your rebound!
My GSD is a retired K-9 after her handler suddenly passed in a fluke boating accident. My wife was her veterinarian and she thought I would be a good match for her. LOL she is at my feet now while I'm typing this post. She is my invisible leash as my wife calls it.GSD's are great dogs. Thanks for your service? Pilot or aircrew?15 years Naval Aviation
12 years army reserve, active duty Desert Storm. Been reefing for 5 years now. Love it ... even on slightly challenging days like today: two power outages in the past 24 hours. First from 7pm-3:30am when a car took out a pole down the road ... then again from 2pm - 6:30pm when the replacement pole split.
Thanks. Yeah, everything is fine. Fortunately a blank wrap and the propane fireplace slowed the temp drop enough to prevent the tank from dropping below 70 F before power was restored. And I keep a few battery-powered airstones on hand for emergencies.jeeze... what a bummer!
hope all is ok
I was an ABH in v1 from 2010-14.. when were you there?4 years Navy served on the uss nimitz. Best years of my life. Got into reefing solely because I enjoy the constant learning and research it takes.
My brother is a Major and looking at Lt Colonel for the Corps.Nah. I was raised at Lejuene. Loved every minute of basic and all moments after. Dad is a Marine Colonel, so I knew well ahead of time what to expect.
