Milwaukee MA887 wildly inaccurate

Anyone ever had problems with the MA887? Yesterday I was checking my tank, and received 5 different readings with the same sample, creeping higher and high each following try. It had always been .001 high even after calibrating, but now it went from 1.024 all the way up to 1.031. I'm really considering sending it in for warranty repair.

Couple of thoughts.

It's temperature compensated so you need to leave the sample on the window for the temp to equalise before measuring.

The window can be cleaned with windex. Leave a drop on there for a minute and then rinse with DI water and wipe off with a microfibre cloth

So I've zero'd it a couple times this morning checking everything. First time I zero'd then checked with the calibration fluid it was reading 1.027, second time was 1.023, and third time was 1.025. I think I'm just going to have to start verifying with the old refractometer, I'm just not sure I can trust it .

Fresh battery? Theres not really much that can go wrong unless it's been dropped.

Battery is 100%, just got this a couple months ago.

I switched to a refractometer because mine was being ridiculous.

Battery is 100%, just got this a couple months ago.

If you haven't dropped it, I'd return it.

They're just a refractometer with a digital readout, so not much to go wrong.
Calibrate with distilled water and it should be good to go as long as the window is clean.

No issues with mine like this. I would try to send it back under warranty also.
