Hi all,

I would like to setup a new QT tank, but i doesn't really have space to setup a large QT.
Could I just goes with a 30cm or a 45cm tank as a QT tank? Most likely my future purchase fish would just be a mandarin or dwarf lionfish. Fishes that smaller than 5inch size.

Also, is it viable for a QT tank to just have an air pump only or a sponge filter?

Thanks

The dimension would be around 30x18x24cm or the 45cm tank, 45x22x27cm.

I guess that's make both around 3 - 5 gal.

Ok, so 60 gallon tank approximately, assuming you only collected juvenile fish you could go with a smaller QT but really consider the size and nature of the fish you'll be putting in there. If you're following thorough QT processes, they'll be in there at least 30 days. The key is to not put them in a stressful environment I think. Personally I wouldn't go smaller than ten gallons.

Noted with thanks.
But whatabout providing shelter for whichever fish in QT?
