Just be sure that the fountain pumps you use are saltwater safe and nothing in there can rust or corrode, that would very quickly cause problems in a pico tank

That’s smart! What benefit do you think the propellers add over just using the output through a guard like you have to break up the flow?
Propellers move water in all directions so there's less water resistance, I'll be playing with different propeller designs in the near future.
