Missing Hawkfish

My Longnose hawkfish went missing this morning. He was there last night and looked great. This morning he is no where to be found. I checked the carpet around and nothing, on top of that I don’t have pets that would snack on him during the night. His tank mates are only a pistol shrimp/goby pair, a pair of clowns, and a chromi. Any idea what could have happened? Could he have died and been eaten 100% overnight? He isn’t in the filter or skimmer either.

How many hiding places do you have? How big is it? Have you checked the filter?

How early is it?
Often fish just wake up and come out later in some mornings.

It’s a 55 gallon tank. There are a decent amount of hiding spaces but none that he frequents.

I wouldn’t worry yet - it’s highly likely that he is just hiding.
Check the filters if you haven’t yet.
