Can I use the water I take out of my mixed reef tank after water changes and dump it into my macro algae tank? I have no fish in in there. In theory, would the macro tank absorb the nutrient from that tank?

Sounds like a good idea. You still might have to supplement some trace elements that were probably depleted from the water in your mixed reef to keep the macro algae happy.

This is what I have. What trace Elements do these macros need? There no fish in there.

I agree on the chaetogro. You may also have to dose. A source of nitrogen and phosphorus. Because what might happen is that caulerpa is going to grow super fast and there won't be any nutrients available for the slow growing red Mangrove seedlings you have.

I do that. I think it helps the macro I keep i a small fishless tank, in reserve, in case I get a problem with the one growing in my carnivorous fish. Over grown algae, go to feed the herbivorous fish.

That’s street reason I got it. Copepod farm/emergency tank for him
