The title says it - but I am planning to mix the 2 additives into a single one as both will be absorbed by my refugium quickly... Not too worried about concentrations or solubility, just wanted to check that there are no strange substances that can form when I mix chelated iron with sodium nitrate..

Cheers,

B.

There should be none, but why don’t you mix one drop of each in a little vial or test tube and confirm there are no precipitates.

OK I mixed them - it didn't explode or cause any other visual or audible effects. Therefore I concluded it's safe for my tank and its survivalist inhabitants.

I start to like these Serious Chemistry Experiments - it's great fun (a bit like playing roulette!)..

Cheers,

B.
