Hi folks. I have a 470 gal fish FOWLR system. Currently it only has 2 residents, a blue face angel and an orange shoulder tang. I have a purple tang that's been in qt and ready for the dt. I also just got a Naso and a desjardini tang which I have not yet put in the dt. My question is, am I asking for war if I add the purple, desjardini, and Naso to the dt which has the orange shoulder resident? Any pointers on how I can reduce chances of aversion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I think you'll be fine in that large of a system. Putting any new additions in an acclimation box before allowing them into the DT sometimes works to reduce aggression. If one of them becomes a problem down the road, build a fish trap and bait it with nori.

+1 to an acclimation box. A friend of nine had a custom acclimation box made that was significantly larger than the commercially available ones specifically for adding tangs. It has reduced aggression a lot for new additions.

I think you are good! I had a 200 with 5 tangs and everyone was happy. Post some pictures when they are all in. Live tangs

Here are my 5 tangs in a 108 gallon doing great with a fox face Angels and others.. Sold the clown as he was starting to become an ***. He was the most picked on at first and was the smallest. Soon became the most violent.

You can't have 2 tangs in that size of a tank. You must have at least 800 or a 1000 gallon system for 2 . jk I've kept 3 in a 50 gals for a year. But it was a terrible idea . You can probably throw a couple of sharks in a 470 lol
