Modded Aquaclear 70

So i modded my Aquaclear 70 into a refugium and i have some live rock ruble and some chaeto in there. Now my question is what sort of lighting can i use for the chaeto. I used one of those leds you can stick onto the wall but it ran through batterys quick and didnt seem strong enough. Thanks

You can pick up a screw in gro light that's meant for plants from WalMart or somewhere, and use either one of those silver dome light fixtures or if you have an old desk lamp or something that'll work...it'll be a lot cheaper.

If you aren't going to see it much then home depot has spring clamp lamps with a reflector for like 7 bucks. You can grow cheato well enough with a one dollar compact flourescent screw bulb that you would normally use for your household purposes. Lots of folks do this exact thing on their algae turf scrubber setups.

Edit: if you want to go a little more spendy on the bulb, there has got to be a par38 LED grow light for plants. Chech a hydroponics store if you have any in your area. would probably be a one time 15-25 dollars for the bulb, maybe less.

i just went and got a small PC lamp from home depot and sat it right on top. it grew macro algae very well in my aquaclear fuge.
