got it. I am doing RMS so I am looking for something comparable, but a smidge maybe, easier to deal with, or a bit cheaper. but...if it's going to be as much or more (bottles last quite a while, provided you dont need major corrections) then it may be best to just stay where I am with that. Thank You
I don’t believe anything is cheaper than RMS since you don’t require water changes but the dosing and salt cost is offset by monthly ICP. I also don’t believe anything is more labor intensive unless you shell out the money to get a dozen dosers!

No kidding. I still do water changes though. Not often, about ever other month though. Plan is to up that and get stable again with it. All is weird and having some po4/no3 issues. Too high for me. Kinda got lazy and went through some stuff. Sent an icon out the 20th, still hasn’t shown it’s been received. Anyway, I’ll stay white that I have I think. Thanks so much

ICP. Then found out this morning, USPS lost it. So that’s fantastic

I have used AFR and balling on a heavily stocked 180. MR is maybe slightly more expensive but worth it for me because of the stability it creates. I started it in the beginning of December using the black containers and still have 2/3 of it left partially because I use one for reef at 25%.

@saltyfins , I just posted a thread on this. It looks like my sample is “lost” as well. I am doubtful USPS lost both of our samples!
Yeah. Big shocker lol

So far , I have sent 4 icp test to modern reef. The quickest results o got is 5 days and the longest is 8 days.

I only ship with UPS 2 day shipping and I live in California. It only cosy me $10 to ship!!!

Both @saltyfins and I sent via USPS and it looks like our samples got “lost”. I will give MR the benefit of the doubt for now but I have never had USPS lose anything I have ever sent. Never had this issue with any of the other ICP providers regardless of whether they include a prepaid USPS mailing label (eg, ATI) or I had to make a label myself.

I sent out out ICP-MS tests to Modern Reef and ATI the exact same day and I got my results back from ATI in 8 days whereas I have been waiting for almost three weeks for MR and they apparently haven’t even received the sample.

It sounds like a usps issue not modern reef issue. Was the package delivered to modern reef warehouse in Miami based on your tracking ??? Or is it that they recieved in in Maimi and no updates or results were given after that?

If its usps issue, I would just contact modern reef and they would send you another icp test replacement for no extra cost. Im sure of it.

I didn’t even pay for tracking since I have never had to do so when sending in ICPs before. I will try again with no tracking and see what happens. I assume MR isn’t receiving USPS packages and throwing them away, but you never now, haha. The chances of USPS losing a second shipment from me plus the one @saltyfins sent is extremely unlikely.

What? It’s not “extremely unlikely “. Not sure where you’re taking this

I do believe it is indeed extremely unlikely for USPS to lose three packages in a row sent by different persons at different dates. You believe the probability of that happening is likely?

It seems like others are getting test results back from MR just fine so seems like the lost packages issue is bad luck.

Yes, I typically do as well, but when Andre checked, it's lost in the shuffle known as USPS... it may still show up, but will be way late, so of no use. think this is the first time I've ever had it happen. so frustrating.

I just want to be clear that you guys are talking about 2 different icp companies ( modern reef @slingfox ) and ( Reefmoonshiners @saltyfins )
And you both have issues with usps not with the icp companies themselves.

Okay good to know! Yeah I am over the lost test issue. Most likely explanation is USPS flubbed up. Stuff happens. Will send new samples out to both Modern Reef and ATI next month and try to do the head-to-head comparison then!
