I bought this gorgeous monti a month ago and now its dying. I was told to cut off dead and do an iodine dip. I'm getting ready to dip but is it necessary to cut off the dead as it will look crazy and lose its shape?

If they don’t grow back, often it is covered with algae and in some cases coraline which nearly blends in.
Maintaining good parameters gives it best chance

Both are good. I raised calcium hoping that would help

The reef shop I bought it from said I needed to cut off all white and dead spots which would make it half the size. I really dont want to do that but dont want to lose the whole.piece either
