Monti turning white

Any idea why this monti would turn like this? I have a Leptoseris doing the same thing. My phosphates are .3. Would that be the issue? I have a GFO reactor on the way from BRS.

Sorry to hear that you are struggling with your monti and lepto. The tank looks like it may be fairly young? Is that the case? Both of those frags look like they haven't been with you very long either. How long have you had them?

What are all your parameters including, nitrate, phosphate (yes I know you already provided this one), calcium, alkalinity, magnesium, lighting, and flow. All of this info can help everyone help you determine what might be going on with your corals

I know it is frustrating to lose things in the tank. Don't give up though as it is a process to learn what all these animals need.

The tank is roughly 1.5yrs old. I have a larger monti that I’ve had probably 9 months that is doing great. Some large Duncan’s that are thriving as well but these two as well as an encrusting monti are all fading white. It shouldn’t be a light issue where they are.

Ca 440, Alk 10, Mg 1290, Po3 .3, Nitrate 50

Nitrates and phosphates are a little high. Once your corals are used to those levels they may do fine, but new frags, especially if they came from a really low nutrient environment, may be very stressed on introduction.

I would also bring your mag up some. 1350 to 1450 ideally. Low mag will affect montipora especially.
