I snapped some of my montipora by accident. The snapped branches are currently laying on there side on the rock. Will these atatch and start growing upwards as they are?

I have four frags on the sand right now growing like crazy.

for fun, stick them side ways on the rock. Horizontal.

sometimes yes. they need chemical signals to encrust.

If they don't get knocked around It might stick.
Me having turbos and an urchin, I just started putting a dab of glue on them and sticking them in holes.
