Move Frag Rack Temporarily to the Tang Tank?

Has anyone tried moving their algae ridden frag rack to a tank with 2 tangs to clear the algae? I am having a major algae breakout in my Fluval 13.5 & I need to be able to clear the corals on the rack before I move them to the new 220.
