:p
looks like a Red Sea tank here! :face-with-hand-over-mouth:

I'm in the minority but I would drain half the water and sit on the floor with feet against the wall and just drag it out one end at a time. Jacking it up is more risky IMO. I mean you want to move it 3 inches. I've lifted one end at time and put cardboard under the stand and slid 6ft tanks to the other side of a room.

If it were me, I would think about using a couple of come alongs at the bottom of the base maybe hooked to a ratchet strap wrapped around the base. You could anchor the come alongs into the studs on the opposite wall maybe using some large eye screws.

Sorry that I wasn’t clear. The jack would be between the wall and rear of the tank. Using wood to distribute the pressure. Probably multiple jacks.
I couldn’t possibly understand the point of lifting the aquarium.

My opinion and experience with my tank was the MP's were horrible on the back. Redsea250 , mp10s. I put them back on the side couldn't get the flow to work out since they had to be above my rock structure and coral. Even at 8% they blew to much sand from my front glass. Not worth the damage that could happen in my opinion.

If it were me I’d get two 55g brutes and drain the tank to near 100%, slide the tank on the lament flooring and then refill it.

If it were me I’d buy a pair of these and use them to lift up each side to put something underneath to help slide it easy. Afterwards I’d put it between the stand and the wall and use them to slowly push the stand out. And as an added bonus they come in handy for all sorts of things.
These were the first ones to pop up in search so take a look at them or other similar ones.

Want to move this 120 gallon about 3 inches forward. This will let me place MP40s on the back glass. Hoping to remove rocks that are not too large, drain 1/2 the water and use scissor jacks to push the tank forward. Tank is 2 years sitting on laminate flooring.
Please let me know your thoughts.

How about switching to Gyre pumps? It looks like you might have enough room for the magnetic mount be hind the tank. Mount them vertically. Maxspec has the individual flow directors to customize where you want the flow to go. Pumps and cords go to the back of the tank so ther out of the wat. Plus, you won't have to move your tank. I did this to mine.

I recently moved my 270 less than 3 inches. I was able to slide it, but only after it was empty. This was only slightly easier than moving it 3 miles.
