Been so long since I could get here. Been one idea to improve after another. Then broke my first metatarsal and was unable to continue the build. Mostly healed up finally and able to get back to building a reef!

tank is a deeper one. 110g with dimensions of 36x24x30. Odd size, but fits my home well. Started with a stand and sump that came with the tank. The sump wasn’t designed well, so upgraded to a bashsea signature sump. Then the new sump wouldn’t slide into the stand due to its construction. Rinsed the aquarium out, let it dry, and cracked a panel. Waited for the lfs to tear it down and replace the panel. Built a new stand in my kitchen, and the sump fits now.

Started the plumping for the drains, added the swing check valve to the return pump, added a ball valve to return line for easy draining during water changes, and only have the split return lines to finish. The plumping is way overkill I’m sure, but I’d rather have too much, then wish I had more. I have a few pictures will add more tomorrow. Super excited!

Well got this tank all plumbed, setup, and filled. 3 days later the back cracked from one of the drilled overflow holes, all the way to the bottom corner. 110 gallons on the floor

part of the hobby I guess. Rather than call it quits, bought a brand new 90 gallon and started over. Fully plumbed with pond tubing, and finally running stable. Been up for about 2 months, was just to nervous to update until I was sure I wouldn’t have another disaster.

Reused the bashsea sump, upgraded my old g5 to a g6 and added a second. Return pump, auto, and gyres are all Jebao, and have been running well. So happy to be back to reefing, and using the knowledge from the forum to have next to no uglies!
