Woke up this morning to a sand storm in my tank. The wet side of my mo p was spinning and kicking sand all over. I called ecotech and they explained that it is rated for 9.50 mm glass and my Nuvo 30l is 9.52.
Grrrrrr.
Does anyone have a trick that has worked for them in this scenario or want to trade two nero5s for two mp10s?

I had a 30L when they first came out and ran MP10's no issue for years.
Ive been running these for about 9 months with no issue. One of the ceramic shafts chipped and I replaced it 2 days ago with a new wetside. The new wetside is the one that I woke up to find spinning.

mine would do this sometimes when new or cleaned, I think bacterial buildup on the glass or some such makes it more slippery.

I just thought of this and razor blade cleaned the glass where it’s mounted just now. Hopefully that makes the difference and it holds. Fortunately my daughter is home for the day and I asked her to keep an eye on it and showed her how to shut the pump off if it happens again.

So it hasn’t spun since the scraping of the glass but man it’s getting hot. Compared the warmth of the mp10 on the other side it’s extremely hot. There is no odd noise or abnormal vibration. I might just buy a dry side replacement.
