I want to take advantage of the current ecotech mp sale to add another pump to my IM 50G EXT lagoon. We plan on upgrading in 2 years and I want to ensure the mp40 can be used with the IM EXT 100 On the overflow side of the glass. With the acrylic and silicone it makes the width .76 inches while the mp40 is for up to .75 inches. Does anyone use a mp40 o their IM 100G EXT peninsula and do you have any issues with the extra thickness or the silicone causing issues with the wetside staying attached or working properly?

In my experience, .75” would be too thick for the magnet to hold the wet side in place.

I have mp40's on my tank which has 3/4" glass. I have no issues. You just make sure to use the right spacer.
