Hey there albert thanks for the advice ! The 1'' bulkhead underneath the overflow box that has a strainer is actually for waterchanges i will be adding a staight barb fitting at the end of the pvc with a shut off valve. when i do a water changes all i have to do is turn the valve open . This will iliminate me creating a syphon by mouth on one end of the hose .

Yess hopefully by mid or end of next month i dont like rushing when im building a reef , so many things can go wrong .

So i placed an order on the apex jr directly from there website and little did i knoe that there office is only 30 minutes away! so i called them up and asked if i can walk in pick up ? they said sure and waved the shipping fee !

wOaw its been a wile since my last update, unfortunately my tank didnt hold water with the acrylic panel when i did a water test . I dont feel like fixing it right now but i like to build a custom 15 gallon tank out of acrylic since im getting better at it . but heres a quick update pics of what ive been working on hope you guys like it .

Looking great ... nice work on that sump and that skimmer looks like a monster .... what is it rated for if I may ask ?

The skimmer is rated 80-130 gallons , the total volume of the sump and display is a little over 30 gallons , when keeping sps i like the skimmer to be 3 times over the amount .

I have to look that skimmer up as I am wondering whether it can be run outside of the sump as a stand-alone one ... nice unit ... probably has the new style impellers too I would imagine. I'll check it on the Net .. Great looking unit ... how is the rest of the tank coming along ?

I looked on the seaside aquatics site and cannot find the CS5.5 model ... and I guess they are manufacturers and do not sell those skimmers directly ... I'll try another search maybe

Its been a long time since my last update so here it is , I decided to ditch the old mr aqua and build a tank out of acrylic. Dimensions are 18x16x12 a total of 15 gallons. The tank is up and running and doing fine for its 1st month. I have a pair of whyoming white clowns , yellow wrasse, and a blenny .
