Currently plan on the two only if I go FOWLR or been debating on a shallow reef. My 180 is a reef so I wouldnt mind some more aggressive non-reef safe fish. Though I do have a brand new radion just sitting around, debating on using it if I go reef or maybe sell to get some more unique different fish.

This is my fish list so far. If and only if I do a FOWLR. If anyone has any experiences with certain fish causing issues with another on my list let me know, and definitely if one is a jumper or any other potential issues.

Emperor Angelfish
Flagfin Angelfish
French or Cortez Angelfish
Flame Dwarf Angel
Bluejaw Trigger or Possibly Clown but iffy with aggression
Bluespot Ray
Clown Tang
Heniochus Trio or would love Moorish Idol
Auriga Butterfly
Spotted Sweetlips
Hifin Snapper or Porkfish

Possibly:
blue hamlet
Spanish Hogfish
Candy Hogfish
Emperor Snapper
Squirrielfish
Marine Betta
Lookdown or Mono School
School of tangs (yellow, convicts?)

Iffy:
Puffer
Shark
Harlequin Tusk

Let me know what you think and with any issues or conflicts

Beautiful looking tank and full of potential either as a fowlr or a reef. Looking foward to see what direction you decide to go with it :)

Thanks for the compliments. The leds are actually of ebay. They were on special running a trial price when I got them and now have went up. I guess due to high demand, but I have not tested any corals under them yet.

Definitely think you should add the radion. Personally I think a fowlr tank is a reef tank that has not ben completed yet.

Yeah I can see that opinion. But I already have a 180 reef, 40 frag, 40 growout, and a 20 just running with a few softies. But me and the girlfriend always wanted to get a ray and some predator fish that are not capable in a reef tank. Though I have future plans for a 10x10 indoor saltwater pond for some sharks.

Well in the basement. Using a 45 mil pond liner but up on the edges with some wood. But that will be a few months to maybe a year down the road. A local petshop has a similar setup with a bonnet and blacktip reef shark roaming around.

That would really be awesome and something I would love to see. Keep us updated

Just a suggestion, pull those 2 fixtures out a little more to light the ends of the tank a little more and put the Radion in the middle. Then just do softies on an island in the middle. This should allow you to keep FOWLR fish and still have somewhat of a reef since most fish don't usually mess with most soft corals like mushrooms, green star polyps, leathers, etc. A big yellow leather in the middle of the rock surrounded by a rainbow of ricordia mushrooms and green star polyps on the sand sounds like a sweet tank in my head. :)
