FOODS AND FEEDING– The Multiband Butterflyfish consumes stony coral polyps (Pocillipora,Meandrina, Porites spp, Montipora spp.), amphipods, peanut worms, polychaete tentacles, hydroids, copepods, algae pieces, and diatoms. This species may accept live brine shrimp, live clams, mussels, and a variety of marine fare for carnivores and omnivores. Should be fed a minimum of 3 times per day.
REEF COMPATIBILITY – No.
CAPTIVE CARE –The Multiband Butterflyfish rarely feeds in captivity without a supply of its natural foods, and an established reef will help increase chances of survival. This species prefers a non-aggressive community until acclimated and care should be taken to ensure the specimen is eating prior to purchase.
