So, my sps colony was growing pretty big next to my Maxima clam. So much so it was hindering the clam from opening and looking like the mantel was kinda pinched.

I did surgery on the sps with bone cutters on the one branch and pop, the branch popped off... and I can't find it... I think it may have gone in the clams mouth.
It was about 3/4" long and fat.

The clam is opening still but not in that one area.

If it's in there, is there a way to get it out or is it done?
I'll have to wait to see inside the clam no matter.

If he did eat it I hope he spits it out. I think I share your luck with clams, Murphy was illegitimate.

Clams have opening where they can pass stuff that fall into the intake siphon. You can see the substrate by looking into the intake siphon in thin clam, especially Noae, Maxima and Crocea. Leave it alone. Too bad you loose that SPS piece.

I don't care about the sps, that colony is huge. I only snipped a piece off to help the clam.
I'll watch it for a few days, thanks for the replies.

As @OrionN mentioned, maxima (and others) have an opening directly under the inhalant siphon in which it can pass objects. If it's opening as usual, then let it be, but keep an eye on it.
