Mushroom or something else?

I can't find it either, but whatever you do, don't search up "hairy mushroom" the word "coral" is needed lol

Well, I learned something new today. Plate corals move on their own. Also I'm at a lfs who also says it's a plate. Lol learn something new everyday.
Plates move, but the bottom of the plate is usually flat and hard. That picture looks like it’s attached by a foot….

It does. So you think mushroom? That's why I initially thought it was a hairy mushroom. But after seeing plates move, I assumed the bottom must be softish for mobility.

Every Fungia and other species of plates that I have do not have a soft bottom. They can move but do not attach to anything. Good placement for plates is usually sandbed. The “face” of the coral looks exactly like any plate I’ve seen but the body with attachment throws me off…

Maybe juveniles attach? I’ve never read/heard that…I’m about to find out. I’ve got 5 babies making their way off their mother at the moment…
