Hey Fellow Reef Addicts, I haven't posted in years on here but figured I'd post my current setup that's been running around 1.5 years. Let me know what you think! as well let me know if you'd like to know more about the setup! It's still a work in progress but coming alon nicely!

The aquarium is a 125 Gal 6' long. This project started after my 75gal aquarium had a catastrophic meltdown after being setup for 8 years.

My 75 gal aquarium pre Catastrophic Meltdown:

The new 125 gal project:

First I drilled it and built my own overflow box.

Then plumbed it and moved it into the place of where my 75 once sat.

Next I plumbed the sump and 10 gal refugium:

After testing everything I added sand, livestock and water to get the cycle started.

After it cycled for a few months, I started adding the coral and fish that survived from my 75gal.

All was going good for the first 6 months until I made the grave mistake of one afternoon after spraying my weeds outside I came in rinsed my hands off but forgot I had weed killer residue on my arms. I then went and started messing with my aquarium and about 3 hours later everything was starting to die. I lost almost all my coral. My fish however did survive.

So after a month of water changes every other day I reintroduced a couple frags to see how they would do. They survived and so the restart began again. Lesson learned.

I then started slowly adding in coral over the next several months.

This is a pic of my electronics cabinet. Disregard the MP10's as they were only temporary until my MP40's came in.

I try to keep it simple. My water params are pretty standard to every other successful Reef tank:

PH- 8.4-8.5
Alk- 9 DKH
Cal- 450 PPM
Mag- 1300 PPM
Nitrates- just a little

I dose Kalkwasser in my topoff water mixed at 8 tsp per 5 Gal to maintain my params. I do have a Calcium Reactor that I will eventually install when my coral exceed the amount of Kalkwasser Needed to maintain my params.

Great build, man! I happen to use two A360WEs along with 4 T5 bulbs on my 4 foot tank... I love those lights. I leak out at 50% intensity as well, along with azure and true actinic Geissman bulbs... it's a great look.

As far as schedule, I use weather charts, but I ramp up to 78% intensity over two hours starting at sun rise, and ramp back down for two hours (starting two hours before sun set). Color ramps up/down for three hours instead of two, and the T5s turn on three hours after sun rise and off three hours before sun set.
