I plan on making a small acan island in the front but trying to figure out how to do it without it looking stupid.

Thank you very much took lots of trial and error. I stacked it all when the tank was empty so it would be more stable.

Did you use any putty to stabilize it?

No I did not I used a few acrylic rods in a couple spots that were shaky every where else was very stable. Don't like using putty, I know it won't leach into my tank just don't feel comfortable with it. Jmo

Quick update:
Everything seems to be coming along nicely so far. Went to lfs yesterday and picked up 6 blue/green chromis. Also got skimmer up and running and took a short video. I did find out that my skimmer was too low, when I had the sump built I had them put in the baffle at 8 inches but I didn't take in to account that if the baffle is at 8 inches the water in that section would be higher. So I added a temporary platform that I made out of egg crate till I can get a riser made. All in all everything is going great.
