They are a hard fish to keep. I’ve tried several in the past that ended up dying. I told myself this is the last time I try them. This one is now 3 years old ! How long did you have yours?
I got about two years out of it. Raised it from just bigger then a quarter. Great fish, ate anything and ruled the tank. Loved the colors too.

My Indian Vegabond Butterflies are back to getting along again. Peace has been restored! I have no idea what the problem was before but all is good now.

Not sure but I think I may have a pregnant Neon Damselfish (Pomacentrus alleni). One has a swelled belly compared to the other one which is longer and slender. What do you guys think?

Two photos above I think is a female

I think this one is a male. He’s not flashing in photo so does have the neon blue color. I love how they flash and become more blue and prettier.

I’ve been battling Dino’s for awhile now. Finally beat them for about 6 weeks. Now they are back,UGH! I had very high nitrate and phosphates and used chemicals to bring them down. Phosphate dropped too fast and too much. While nitrates remained high. Big imbalance caused them I’m pretty sure. Well I beat them once I can do it again!

Starting to see white sand again. I’ll keep dosing silicate, phyto, pods and MicroBactor7

Need to go store to buy a new turkey baster, which I use to suck samples to look at under the microscope. The cat took the silicone squeeze ball off the top of current one and I can’t find it! For some reason he loves this texture and likes to chew on it.

The good news is my nitrates and phosphates are finally in balance The bad news is they are still high. N- 53.1, P - 0.48 and it looks like dinos are receding more now.
Keeping up the fight! Although I’m going to try a different route now. Going to stop dosing silicate and start dosing DIY NoPox, carbon dosing at night when lights are out as according to this thread

Well since I can’t seem to sell my interruptus angel due to the price, I’ve decided to keep him and buy a bigger tank. I can house several angels then and hopefully that will spread the aggression around and he won’t kill them off. I know it it is a hit or miss approach, but it might work. Or I may just be asking for more trouble. Time will tell. I’m getting a 270 gallon from planet aquarium. It will be a couple months before I can order it. I need to save up more money first. I’m hoping I can still use my current sump, skimmer, return pump and all my other equipment. After talking to a few other people I think it will work.
In the meantime I have sectioned off part of my tank with egg crate to separate the interruptus from my flame trio. And still fighting the fight with dinos.

Is that 270 gal what pairs are you going to add?
Yep 84” x 30” x 24”
270 gallons.
Already got on order:
pair of Golden Semilarvatus Butterflyfish
Pair of long nose hawk fish
Pair of Bimac Anthias
Blonde Naso Tang (single fish)
Still deciding on which angle pairs to add

What just a single fish. I hope it doesn't try to steal a mate

Haha. None of my tangs have mates. Some fish are almost impossible to pair. And some don’t live in pairs but gather for a mass spawning event and then go there separate ways again. The perpetual bachelor :)

Got notification that my order of fish will be here Thursday. However, they said the blonde naso tang jumped out over the weekend :( so they have to reorder and prequarantined it. That’s the story they are telling me anyway. By then it will be the middle of winter and I not like shipping fish when it is that cold. I’ve got my qt tanks all set up and slowly transferring some of the rock to them. Then slowly add a few fish at a time so as not to overload my qt tanks. I started making new saltwater and storing in brutes so I am ready for large water changes in my qt tanks if needed. OMG… what have I gotten myself into

Yes! One down and about a dozen more to go.

Now I can remove the egg crate barrier so tank looks better. Got someone coming tomorrow interested in buying the 180 w/stand and canopy. He does know it will be about 6 weeks before he can take it. I would rather he look now and take measurements and not wait for 6 weeks and then decide it won’t work for his house. So if need be I can line up another buyer.

Tank this morning before lights come on.
