so long story short i have been keeping myself from buying a calm for a year now and i got one as a gift last Friday , so i am here top post the pictures of my clam and i would like to know if you guys see something wrong with it , it is about 5 inches and i am guessing it is a maxima clam , i do not feel like it is opening fully i have a maxspect razor 120w on a 40 gallon tank ,and i put a rock in the sand and then the calm on it (unfortunately the clam moved and now half of its foot is anchored and half is on the sand but i will leave it alone for now and see what happens )
please let me know what you think and if there is anything i can do differently

Wow that is so nice color and the texture is great. Btw, you have cyano on your sand bed or something? I just got myself a baby clam last Thursday. Cheer and hope your clam will open up more

I wouldnt be too worried. Many clams hat are found in the wild do not open as fully as tank grown. Also it's only been a week so it is still probably fully acclimating.

Beautiful clam! I dont think you have anything to worry about. It looks fine, give it a couple more weeks to fully open and get acclimated to things
