These are my 2 new Derasa clams I picked up yesterday from my local Petco. Currently they are in a15 gallon QT tank with a Viparspectra over them. I’m using water from my DT for this tank so I should not have to worry about to much instability. I’m planning on doing 1/2 -2/3 water changes weekly during th

Once through QT, I’ll add them to my 92 DT. :)

Enjoy!

Thanks,

Clams, been mainly get their nutrient from photosynthesis, are like plant in the sense that they are net nutrient user rather than producer. In QT you don't have to do water change like keeping a fish which you have to feed them result in ammonia produce.
You need to provide them with adequate lighting and keep temperature and salinity stable. You can change water if you want, but they really need a heater and a small PH for the QT tank.
