The Duncan looked good at the LFS? That hermit bothering the coral at all?
Yep was fine at the lfs not sure but probably not I don’t often see my hermits on / near corals apart from the GSP

That’s good!
The new Duncan definitely looks unhappy. What is that stuff on the Duncan?

Looks almost green? Whatever it is, it should not be there. Could be stressing the coral. How’s the flow in your tank?

Update on this tank I had a huge Algea problem and most corals and my shrimp died I still have my acan but my GSP and Duncan doesn’t look to good and if the Duncan wasn’t dead before then it is now because I pulled it off it’s plug rock accidentally whilst I was trying to clean around it :(
I’ve done a deep clean and got as much algea off as I can and I’m going to my lfs today getting some more CUC. trochus snails, cerith snails, margarita snails, chiton snails and ninja star snails are all on my list I will have to see what they have in stock when I get there

As of now I have
2 clownfish 1x male 1x female
3 hermit crabs
1 Trochus snail

thinking of getting a coral or two also I’m thinking mushrooms, gsp another Duncan or candycane maybe

(these Pics were taken mid clean so most algae you can see has gone)

Hello! It’s been a awhile! Looking good! Most mushrooms are easy to grow. GSP is almost impossible to kill, lol

Have you added anymore equipment? You May not have good water flow with just the filter I see in picture. I see it’s pointing down, which is ok if you have other water movers up top for surface agitation.

I’m back from my lfs I got
5x Astraea snails (they only had astreas and narcissus in)
1x orange sponge
1x dragon soul Favia
1x fist full of dollars chalice coral
I spoke with the guy there as I know they are very knowledgeable and they advised me on these corals they told me the sponge was trickier but it would be ok

Ok update tank update
I had problems with my parameters causing me to lose the Chalice and DS favia :( but everything is in check now (corals still look a little rough) and I’ve stared running Seachem phosphate remover to keep phosphate down
I’ve upgraded the heater as last one was too small and the water kept getting too cold
Also I moved my owerhead
Current corals:
Candy cane
Acan
Orange sponge
Current livestock:
2 clowns
6 Astraea snails
4 hermit crabs

Found some Aptasia in my tank today - slightly panicking, I’m looking at best ways to remove without using chemicals as I want to keep my water as stable as possible I’m thinking a peppermint shrimp

What is your phosphate level? Be careful not to bottom out your phosphate

Did you find a good supplement to bring your alkalinity up?

For now I would not add reef roids to your tank. Coral feed on light mostly. Unless they are the non photosynthetic type. Phytoplankton is good and should not impact your water parameters.

what are you feeding the clowns? Mysis and brine shrimp are ok to feed your LPS, especially that Acan.

Phosphate was about 3ppm
My alkalinity is 7, I haven’t got anything to bring it up yet
I feed them flake food and occasionally some live brine I will get some next time I go to my lfs and see if my acan will eat it

Wow that is high for phosphate! Even if you mean .30 ppm. 3.0ppm is extremely high!!

Regular baking soda that most have in the kitchen will work to maintain Alk. If you’re not comfortable with that, then next time you’re at the LFS ask for a Alkalinity supplement.
